Things I’m Loving Lately

Hi, friends! How are you? I’m recovering from a busy weekend over here and I’m hard at work on an eBook I’m putting together for you about morning routines. In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to chat about some things (wellness and food related, of course!) that I’m loving lately.

1 // The Oh She Glows Cookbook

I’m trying to cook more plant-based meals at home. At least for me, I need some inspiration when I cook. I love each and every recipe I’ve ever tried from Oh She Glows. It’s such an amazing cookbook – regardless of whether you eat meat or not.

If you’re looking to add more plant-based meals to your diet, I would highly recommend starting with a few of these delicious meals.

2 // Minimalist Baker’s “Everyday Cooking” Cookbook

Another example of an awesome, delicious cookbook with plant-food, mostly gluten free recipes! I love Minimalist Baker’s recipes because they tend to be simple. She has plenty of 1-pot or 30-minute recipes, too!

3 // Bikini Shopping

I had surgery a few years ago that left me with some gnarly scars. I’ve been on the hunt to find a bathing suit that’s comfortable, covers my scars, and works for an active lifestyle.

Don’t get me wrong, I love sitting on the beach as much as the next girl. But I also love to paddle board, ocean kayak, play games on the beach, and move around comfortably. It’s hard to find a bikini that checks all those boxes, right!?

Plus, I truly believe it’s absolutely essential that you feel comfortable and confident in your swimsuit on the beach. Don’t love bikinis? No worries! There are awesome 1-pieces, tankinis, and all kinds of other options out there. The point is, find something that feels good and makes you feel your best. I’m on a mission to find that suit for me this year.

Here are a few cute ones I’ve found so far…

4 // Nuun Tablets

I tend to get a little light headed when I exercise, so I started using this Nuun tablets during my more intense workouts lately (like SoulCycle!). You just drop one in your water bottle and bam! I like the berry citrus ones, but I’ve tried a few of the flavors and they’ve all been pretty good!

I took a SoulCycle class last week, and I swear these made the difference for me. Maybe it was mental, but I’ll take it!

5 // Barnana

Hi my name is Sam, and I’m a Barnana addict. I mean honestly… where do these things come from? Heaven? If you haven’t had the distinct pleasure of trying these already, you’re in for a treat. They’re these awesome little dense chewy banana bites that are either covered in chocolate, coconut, coffee, peanut butter, or just banana!

I’m partial to the ones coated in dark chocolate, but all the variations are really awesome. They’re also organic and use Fair Trade chocolate so, win-win.

They’re perfectly chewy, sweet, and tasty. And of course, I love that Barnana has a great social mission, too! They’re saving perfectly good, unwanted bananas that are usually destined for the trash. I once saw a Food Network special on how much produce is wasted each year because of our unrealistic and unnecessary standards for produce-perfection.

Every banana deserves a good home, y’all.
